"Hot Stuff from Iceland" The Scotsman
Iceland’s biggest stand up comedian (and first-ever Netflix star) returns to the UK following sold out runs at Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne and London’s Soho Theatre.

The grandson of a previous president, Ari Eldjarn is the beating heart and unofficial ambassador for a fascinatingly humorous frozen rock called Iceland. A family man with a unique perspective being locally famous in his own country; having run-ins with Icelandic tabloids, a new relationship and being a father while all the time being a travelling comedian. This former flight attendant’s fast comedy is utterly charming; the coldness of his homeland is in stark contrast to the warmness of his delivery.

Born and raised in Reykjavík, Ari has appeared on Pardon My Icelandic (Netflix), Mock the Week (BBC Two) and performed with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra.

"His jokes feel as fresh as mountain air… Eldjárn’s got a joke for every occasion. I can’t recommend this hugely enjoyable show highly enough." Herald Sun

"A smart, savvy comedian with a hugely assured set" Chortle

"…an immediately appealing guide to his homeland, filtered through personal tales and relatable bobservational humour." The Scotsman

"As straightforwardly enjoyable and undemanding an hour of stand-up as you’ll find at the Fringe" The Scotsman
